OSHA News Alert

UPDATE: The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has extended the deadline for employers to electronically submit injury and illness data to December 1, 2017.

On May 17, 2017, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration indefinitely delayed the July 1, 2017 deadline for employers to electronically submit injury and illness data. OSHA’s original electronic reporting rule required employers with 250 or more employees, as well as “high risk” industry employers with 20-249 employees, to electronically submit data from their 2016 Form 300A logs to OSHA by July 1, 2017. This data was to be published by OSHA on its website. However, OSHA has now posted the following statement:

Updated Electronic Submission of Records

OSHA is not accepting electronic submissions of injury and illness logs at this time, and intends to propose extending the July 1, 2017 date by which certain employers are required to submit the information from their completed 2016 Form 300A electronically. Updates will be posted to this webpage when they are available.
