OSHA Record Keeping Enforcement
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration adopted a National Emphasis Program (NEP) to address deficiencies in compliance with the OSHA recordkeeping standards. These standards are found at Title 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) §1904.0 et. seq. The concern of OSHA centers on employers failing to report all recordable injuries and illnesses and when they do report, not to do so accurately. While the industries that caused the concern were the meat and poultry industries, the NEP is not limited to them. Several construction oriented business have been inspected under this NEP. The NEP started on October 1, 2009 and expires on September 30, 2010.
